New Capital Investment Entrant Scheme
The Hong Kong government officially relaunched the Capital Investment Entrant Scheme (CIES) on March 1, 2024. The scheme aims to attract high-net-worth individuals worldwide to invest in Hong Kong and promote economic development. It is designed for applicants seeking Hong Kong residency through investment and offers a pathway to permanent residency

Main Conditions and Requirements
Eligible applicants can obtain Hong Kong residency through investment and may eventually qualify for permanent residency
01. Investment Amount Requirement

Minimum Investment Amount: Applicants must invest at least HKD 10 million in Hong Kong and allocate these funds into eligible investment instruments as specified by the Hong Kong government.

Eligible Investment Instruments Include: Hong Kong stocks, bonds, funds, and commercial properties (excluding properties for personal residence)
02. Net Asset Value Requirement

Net Asset Requirement: Applicants must prove that their net assets are no less than HKD 30 million. The assets must be legally owned by the applicant or their family members.

Asset Proof: Applicants must provide proof of their asset status from the past six months to demonstrate the legality and stability of the assets
04. Family Office and Private Company Investment

Applicants may choose to invest through the establishment of a family office or a private company

Private Company Requirements: The company must be established in Hong Kong and fully owned by the applicant. It must have at least two full-time employees and an annual operating expenditure of no less than HKD 2 million

Family Office Requirements: The family office must manage a total net asset value of no less than HKD 240 million and should focus on the management and enhancement of family wealth

Investment Duration

Residency Requirement
Although there is no immediate requirement to start a business or seek employment in Hong Kong, investors must reside in Hong Kong and maintain their investment. If the conditions are met within the specified period, investors can apply for an extension of their stay and may eventually become permanent residents of Hong Kong
