Express Entry (EE)
Overview
On January 1, 2015, completing an Express Entry profile will be the first step in immigrating to Canada permanently as a skilled worker under the:
- Federal Skilled Worker Program,
- Federal Skilled Trades Program, and
- Canadian Experience Class
Under the Express Entry system, Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) will invite people to apply for permanent residence based on the information they enter in an online profile. You cannot apply directly to any of these programs unless CIC sends you an invitation to apply (ITA).

Program Highlights
- Permanent residence for you and your whole family
- The most affordable Canada immigration program
- You do not need to manage a business or conduct business or investment activity in Canada
- You do not need to get a job offer in Canada. If you have accepted a job offer in Canada, extra points will be earned to your application
- Once the application is granted, your children can enjoy free education in Canada
- The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) integrates the various performances of the applicant (including core factors, spouse background, adaptability, additional parts*, etc.), and integrates the corresponding total scores, and competes with other applicants for the monthly signature amount
- * Extra points cover a wide range, such as permanent resident status of Canada or citizen’s brothers and sisters who have settled in Canada, a French degree, have received education above secondary school in Canada, have been accepted to work by Canadian employers, and have been nominated by the provincial government. Among them, “Nominated by the Provincial Government” has the highest score (+600 points).
